This blog is a result of the inspiration the author got from the Liturgical Bible Study (LBS) which Fr. Alro Yap, SVD has introduced for a better understanding of the Word of God.
The name of the blog comes from the Gospel Reading which talks about the Salt of the Earth and Light of the World. This Gospel verse was the actual Gospel of the Day on February 9, 2013, the day when the talk of Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD introduced the LBS to the members of the SSpS Associates of the Philippine Rosary of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS).
As SSpS Associates, we are called to be witnesses of the Word like our very own founding generations. Guided by the example of St. Arnold Janssen, Bl. Maria Helena Stollenwerk, and Bl. Josepha Hendrina Stenmanns, the Word of God becomes the center of our lives as we become the “Incarnation” of the Word in the World.
Thus, this blog aims to make a study of the Scriptures following the Catholic Liturgical Readings for Sundays. The author will then make use of the LBS to understand the readings clearly while keeping strict Catholic tradition on understanding them. It does not present a mere reflection only but the wisdom that anyone can get from the Scriptures.
